The artist Jimena Schlaepfer ( Mexico , 1982 ) was graduated in arts in 2006 from the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda" in Mexico City, she had also taken an animation course in the Centro Multimedia del Centro Nacional de las Artes in Mexico City and a photography course at the Instituto Fotográfico Álvarez Bravo in Oaxaca.

Her metaphoric work has been exhibited in solo shows one of them is "Ossis Lux" which was presented in 2016 in the Museum of the Oaxacan Painters MUPO. In that same year, she also presented the exhibition "Cosmogonía Trilobite" at the Cultural Center of Santo Domingo in Oaxaca. Furthermore the artist participated in a collective exhibition organized by the Museo Universitario el Chopo "Horror en el trópico" in Mexico City. "Historia Adulterada" at the museum La Celda Contemporánea also in Mexico City, just to mention some of them.

It is worth mentioning that in 2014 she obtained an artistic residence at the Banff Centre in Canada. In 2011 and 2006 Schlaepfer was awarded with the scholarship Jóvenes Creadores en Medios Alternativos, FONCA. In 2006 she received an Honorable Mention in the Biennial of Emerging Art in Monterrey and in 2005 the artist won a prize at the Second Biennial of Nacional de Arte Visual Universitario de Toluca.
